No: If your baby is gaining well and he/she is not requiring more and more frequent feeds, then you baby should be getting enough food.

Yes: If a normal-sized 1 year old asks for more baby food, by using hand signals or vocalizing, he probably needs more food. At mealtimes, feed solid food before the milk or formula. By this age, he can eat a variety of baby foods, and decrease the drinking to 18-24 ounces a day. If he drinks too much milk and eats just a little solid food, then he really might need more food, and less milk.

Yes: If your baby seems to be asking for more food they probably do need more. Babies know when they are hungry and unlike adults do not tend to overeat. If your baby is on solids make sure they are healthy foods and they do not fill up on processed crackers and snacks. If breastmilk is the sole nutrition don't worry about overfeeding, breastfed babies will not become overweight on breastmilk!
