Proteinuria: Many women will be first diagnosed with proteinuria (p) during pregnancy. If it is detected early in pregnancy, it’s likely from some underlying renal disease unrelated to the pregnancy. If it's detected later in the pregnancy, it may be pre-eclampsia. P needs to be worked up. The woman should be sent to a neprhologist for a work to see if a cause for the p can be found and treated.
