Prognosis is good: Thyroid cancer is a very non aggressive type of cancer. It is rare for people to die of thyroid cancer (unless anaplastic- a very rare form of thyroid cancer). If done by an experienced surgeon, thyroid surgery has a very low risk. You should follow through with what has been recommended.
