But it's working...: Congratulations! you've found a medication that is reducing you're cholesterol, significantly reducing your risk of heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, and stroke, hopefully without significant side effects. Reducing or stopping the medication at this point would be stopping the medication because it's working. I wouldn't advise that unless you are having significant side effects.

Indeed: Generally dietary changes and exercise i recommended prior to pharmaceutical intervention. This would have broad reaching benefits to you as well as potentially avoiding any side effects of the medication that might not be necessary. Thank you for asking ; this is an excellent question.
