Age 57 male. tg 133 mg/dl, cholesterol 123, hdl 43, ldl 53. im taking rosuvastatin 20 mg currently. this med is causing my a1c to go from 5.7 to 6.1 in about 2 months. can i stop this med? are there any other med that doesnt raise a1c? what to do ?

In view of such low levels of total cholesterol & LDL ,if you were my patient I'd reduce the dose of rosuvastatin 20 mgs to 5 times a week and add purified liquid omega 3 fish oil in order to raise your HDL to 50. I would recheck lipid panel & A1c in 6 weeks to see where you stand and take it from there. Continue low cholesterol & low saturated fat,no concentrated sweets diet & exercise
