Lump in palate: Abscessed molars in the upper arch can cause a bump in the hard palate. Most are usually soft and have drainage coming from the abscessed tooth. Antibiotics will only reduce the problem. Root canal treatment would be best to try to save the tooth if there is sufficient tooth structure remaining to restore the tooth. You should see your dentist before it starts hurting.

Yes, no, yes: Abscessed (infected) tooth can cause soft lump on hard palate near the tooth. If hard and in the midline probably a normal boney growth called a torus. Antibiotics do not take away (cure) infected teeth, only help control spread of infection. Rare, but lump could be scar tissue. Only way to know is to be examined by a dentist who is trained to help you resolve the problem. Don't wait.

See your dentist: Some conditions like hard lump on palate may require further assessment and your dentist may schedule a follow-up appointment or refer you to a specialist to determine a diagnosis. See your dentist for evaluation.
