Absolutely: Mild facet joint arthropathy is very very common on ct and mri. This is not a death sentence and may not even be the cause of your low back pain. Since the pain is relatively new, if strong anti-inflammatories don't help, you can possibly get a lumbar facet joint steroid injection to get rid of the pain. Get a proper evaluation by a spine specialist to see what the actual cause is.

Yes You Can: You will get over this. It is not over, at least not yet ;). Start a physical therapy/exercise program, remember start slow and take your time to get back to health and strength. Look at all those athletes out there in the world, they take their sweet time before getting back on the field. It must all mean something... Facet injections/Treatments are also helpful if you are not improving.
