How long will hydrocodone affect my breastmilk? i had surgery on my acl and was prescribed 5mg. when will it be out of my system so i can breastfee?

Narcotic/breastfeed: You do not need to stop breast feeding if you are on small doses of hydrocodone. As long as your 24 hour intake is less than 30mg, there should be minimal effect on the baby - a little drowsiness may occur, not as vigorous feeding. However, if you really want no exposure and want to pump and dump, it will clear from your system and milk in 48 hours. I would keep nursing! (good luck with your knee).
