A member asked:

My pap test results were slightly abnormal what can this mean and is it serious?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pap smear: Abnormalities are common , mild ones , like atypical cells of undetermined significance usually clear up on their own, can be related to inflammation. Other higher grade lesions are commonly associated with hpv and can be treated at the gynecologist's office. Your physician will probably have you repeat the pap smear to make sure the abnormality has cleared up. Take care!
