A member asked:

Can i get flu shots at duane reade post 3 months accutane treatment? is it safe? who gives the shots?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: The flu vaccine can be given in your case if there are no other contraindications medically. Accutane is an anti-inflammatory and not an immunosuppressant, so vaccines can be live or dead. It also clears the body effectively in two weeks after you stop. At pharmacies, immunizations are usually given by a trained pharmacist or RN, with your doctor's permission. Your PCP can administer the shot.
