Good and Bad: It is true that risk of breast cancer goes up minimally after childbirth, but having children and especially breast feeding protect against breast cancer. Tough question.: There are factors which can influence breast cancers both ways. Some factors can decrease the risk (e.G early age first term pregnancy) and others can increase the risk (e.G later age at first pregnancy). Breast feeding, age of your first period and more seem to have an effect. We don't know all the influences. We are learning. Sometimes i get the feeling the more we learn the less we know.
