Extremely unlikely!: Over the years I have heard a million reasons why people thought they got gum disease....Except the most obvious: gums infected from bacterial laden plaque which remains ever present due to the lack of appropriate daily flossing (skipping just one day will cause a reinfection) and to a much lesser degree correct toothbrushing technique. It is so easy to prove to yourself . Give it a try!

Second hand smoke: No, that in itself will not cause or contribute to gum disease. It may, however, expose you to other general health risks.
