When taken with levodopa the dosage of azilect (rasagiline) is often reduced from 1mg to 0.5mg, why is this?

Increase side effect: When Azilect (rasagiline) is used with carbidopa/levodopa the potential side effects of Levodopa are increased, thus one of the doses of Azilect (rasagiline) or carbidopa/levodopa are decreased from the dose that would be used with either drug alone.
