A member asked:

How long after cardiac contusion should i wait to get a stress echo? don't want to have a false positive. when symptoms (palpitations) are all gone?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Myocardial damage: A myocardial contusion is treated just like a heart attack except no anticoagulant is used. Therefore i feel that any stress tests should be put off for several weeks until the damaged area is healed. This would apply to maximal stress tests and not necessarily to a low level stress test. Your cardiologist is best qualified to advise you, however.
