Cough: There are many causes for cough in this age group. Most common is viral illness. However, we always have to be on guard for anything going on in the lungs. Continuous dry cough in a child can be caused by asthma. Even if there is no prior history, this is the diagnosis i would be concerned about. I recommend a consult with your doctor, who may want to listen to the lungs before making a diagnosis.
