Uncommon: Increased pain vs. After surgery, fever, redness (erythema) of the area (or past the area of surgery), warmth or heat at the surgical site, increased swelling, pain with any motion of the shoulder, drainage from the incision (especially if cloudy or looks like pus), ; increase in pain to light tough of the area. Infection would be uncommon for a healthy young pt. Call your surgeon.

Infection: The classic signs of infection are warmth, redness, tenderness or pain, swelling or tissue hardness, and in this case you might look for abnormal drainage from the incision, fever, etc. You should definitely go back to your orthopedist and be seen. Good luck.
