A member asked:

Left calf and hip go into a cramp if i move it into certain positions.have had back spasms in past. i grind teeth which causes referred pain in back?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not related: Grinding your teeth has no direct effect on your back or muscle cramping. However, grinding you teeth may indicate a heightened anxiety state which could cause muscle cramps . If this persists you should see a dentist about your tooth grinding for possible use of a mouth guard to prevent this .Also see your physician to make sure there is no other medical problem causing your back pain.
