Pred. can cause depr: Prednisone can cause several psychiatric manifestations-depression, psychosis etc etc oral methotrxate does not have any psychiatric side effects.

Your condition can!: You must be under care of a doctor (or )a team for whatever you were prescribed these powerful drugs. They do interact to increase side effects but depression is not listed as one. However, serious physical illness is certainly a known cause of depression through a variety of paths. You hurt, worry, experience pressure, confusion, disappointment, fear, etc., etc. A health psychologist can help.
