A psychiatric or : Psychological evaluation would be a good approach for accurate diagnosis of a severe major depressive episode with psychotic features. In this situation, depression is combined with some form of loss of reality. Take care.

Psychiatric eval: If you suspect this, get an evaluation by a psychiatrist as soon as possible. Major depression with psychotic features is a very serious illness that has a particularly high suicide rate. Symptoms include sadness/numbness, loss of interest in pleasurable activities, changes in sleep or appetite, low energy or concentration, suicidal thinking, paranoia, hallucinations, or delusional thinking.
