Once cancer has spread to other body parts, is there hope for recovery?

Depends: Some cancers, like testicular or certain kinds of lymphomas, can be cured even if spread. Others, while incurable, are nonetheless controllable for long periods of time (often years). Examples include some kinds of lymphomas ; leukemias and some kinds of breast cancer. Sadly, some others are very aggressive and the best we can do is offer comfort.
