Therapy: 'frozen shoulder' or adhesive capsulitis is caused by intense inflammatory reaction of shoulder capsule (joint) characterized by intense pain initially followed by evolution of severe stiffness. Motion and pain do improve over time. Steroid injection into the shoulder joint can be very helpful to alleviate pain and facilitate therapy to restore range of motion. This can take 3-6 months.
