I think: Your referring to the lateral malleolus or distal fibula not the talus. If you have pain there from an injury i would visit a doctor.You may have ripped ligaments, or had an avulsion fracture which may or may not have healed properly.....You may need xrays or MRI in addition to clinical exam.
