Yes: You are born with all of the eggs you will ever use in your lifetime. At some point, these eggs run out and you stop getting your period. Menopause is defined as no period for 12 months. It is usually associated with hotflashes among other symptoms. There are resources online, such as the north american menopause society that can help.
