Absurd: Orthognathic surgery is required in certain circumstances to correct skeletal deformities. Dental floss cannot straighten teeth. If you have a malocclusion, find a well trained and competent orthodontist for a consultation and treatment options.

Jaw surgery: In certain conditions, orthodontic treatment alone is inadequate to fix jaw position type problem that can occur in either upper or lower jaw. Orthognathic surgery is the surgery that physically places the jaw(s) in the corrected positions.
