A member asked:

Help? i believe i have avoidant personality disorder, what should i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Psychotherapy: Without question, the solution is psychotherapy. The problem is that people with avoidant personality may find the prospect of psychotherapy emotionally threatening, and so may avoid that too, thus cutting themselves off from the opportunity to change and grow. Muster up your courage and get into real therapy-- by which i mean regular, ongoing, weekly (at least) appointments with a professional.
