Wellbutrin (bupropion) is : Excellent for atypical depression/ seasonal affective disorder. Would not use it first line for adhd. However, it can be used off-label for that purpose.

It certainly can: Wellbutrin (bupropion) is first-line antidepressant (as effective as others like Prozac and zoloft), and also has some efficacy for adhd symptoms (although considered second-line after stimulants like Ritalin and adderall). Wellbutrin (bupropion) can be a good choice when depression and adhd co-occur.

It is important to find the correct combination of medications with your Psychiatrist. Have a physical exam to rule out illness. If you are not confident in your Dr. see another for a 2nd opinion. Medications are not sufficient since they do not teach you coping. Psychotherapy with a Clinical Psychologist with expertise in multiple types of psychotherapy can help your medications to work better.
