Possibly nothing.: Asymptomatic gallstones may need no treatment. Any upper abdominal pain, particularly after eating should prompt you see your doctor, as gallbladder blockage or inflammation can make you quite sick. If someone with gallstones is elderly, has diabetes, or has any other condition that would make them less sensitive to the symptoms of gallstones, the gb should be removed, even w/ no symptoms.
