A few days: Assuming the causative organism is susceptible to Ceftin (cefuroxime) (determined by culture) and the dose is adequate and the patient takes the medicine as directed, the antibiotic should begin working as soon as blood levels reach therapeutic levels usually in 1 to 3 days.
