Suitable antibiotics: U need 2c doctor who will send urine culture to identify bacteria causing infection ; which antibiotic will be effective to kill the bacteria. In mean time start u on a broad spectrum antibiotic like Cipro (ciprofloxacin) or Bactrim for 2 weeks whilst awaiting urine culture result ; chnage antibiotic if necessary. Macrodantin shouldn't be used (poor tissue penetration). Drink lots of water ; get lots of rest.

Antibiotics: Appropriate antibiotics, meaning that the bacteria causing infection are sensitive to the prescribed antibiotic. Kidney stones , if present, will need to be removed & any condition predisposed to causing urine infections which lead to kidney infection needs to be corrected.
