Unlikely: However, severe iron deficiency can cause fatigue, hair loss, brittle/elevated nails, weakness, shortness of breath, chest pain, headaches, infections, problems with bone healing, dental issues, sore/inflammed tongue, cold extremities and potentially heart enlargement/failure if the deficiency/anemia is longstanding and untreated. Your body needs iron to get oxygen to your organs.
