A member asked:

Is it ok if i take a iron pill? would it hurt if i didn't need it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Iron pill not needed: Healthy men eating a diet that contains adequate sources of iron should not need a supplement. Since men do not lose blood ( and iron) every month through menstruation, they should not have low iron unless there is bleeding form other sources or the diet contains insufficient iron taking extra iron in the face of normal iron levels can be harmful, as the body has no way to eliminate it.
