Depends: Not all cough medications contain alcohol; there are some that specifically do not, and if you are being tested with etg or ets testing, you should use non-alcohol containing cough medicines. There is no way to know how high the etg level might be without knowing how much cough medicine you had and how much time between taking it and the test. Many consider etg too sensitive for legal purposes.
