Safe to wait: It sounds like the "lump" may be a bartholin's gland abscess. All residency trained emergency physicians are capable of treating this condition with anesthesia then incision and drainage. It is certainly safe to wait 24 hours and see your ob/gyn physician. Urinary symptoms may or may not be related to the abscess. Will need a urinalysis also.

Fever?: If symptoms are over 24 hours old, not improving or worsening or if you have had fever above 100.5f - then go to er now. If none of these things bothered you much, see or call your pcp first thing in the morning.
