I have a pounding heart beat once in a while, so is it anything to worry about?

Quite common..: Premature ventricular contractions (pvcs) are quite common and peopple often feel this as skipped or extra heart beats. If it is here and there and no longer than a streak of 8 heats in a row and you don't have symptoms such as dizziness, chest pain etc...Then i would not worry much. If it is too frequent, longer than 8 beats streaks, or u have symptoms, u should consult your doc asap..Good luck.
