A member asked:

What is the normal range for blood pressure when standing, sitting or after walking or jogging?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ranges: As a general rule the normal sitting blood pressure can be 100-140/70-90 with 120/80 being a goal. On standing the systolic may rise or fall about 10 mm and the diastolic may rise 5-10 mm. With exercise BP normally rises varying degrees depending on how vigorous the exercise is. During stress tests the systolic could reach 200 at peak exercise and the diastolic may drop with very rapid heart rate.
