Many diseases.: Sarcoid, sle, sjogren's, inflammatory bowel disease, still's, and many others. While it appears you have a non-infectious cause, see a rheumatologist. You ultimately may need a node removed and looked at by a pathologist. Simple prcedure.

See below...: The glands you are talking about are probably enlarged lymph nodes. If the enlargement is persistent and does not react to antibiotics, a lymph node biopsy may be a reasonable next step.
