Tooth: It's definitely earlier than expected (~6 months), however, there are babies that are born with teeth, so it's not that abnormal. I'd take him to his pediatrician, though, to make sure it's not something else but a tooth.

Not a problem: Teeth can be present or not erupt until 15 mo or so. If it is stable/firm in the gum line leave it alone and begin caring for it as you would any teeth. If it is very loose at that age (ready to shed easily) we worry that it could go down the breathing tube and remove it. Discuss it at your next well baby visit.
