Thrombophlebitis : Common area to draw blood is the antecubital fossa( front of elbow). The biceps tendon passes through here on its way to its attachment on the radius bone.Superficial thrombophlebitis is not uncommon after blood draws or iv's in this area. Warm compresses and a NSAID for a few days will help. They resolve pretty quickly. If not, see your pcp . Good luck!
