The people: Who have been treating you will know best. When you say endoscopy, do you mean upper endoscopy when they look into your stomach? If not, a GI doctor to perform it is reasonable.

?pinched nerve: Sharp, stabbing, fleeting pains suggest a pinched nerve perhaps at the junction of the rib and sternum. Certain motions of the rib cage may affect this or bring on the sharp pain. Pains in the lung or esophagus would be less likely. Sometimes there is associated tenderness at the site of the pinching.Raise this possibility with your physician.
