Possibly: Asthma attacks can be triggered by a number of things including allergies. Specifically if you are allergic to wool and the blanket is wool, this may be a problem. If your blanket comes in contact with animal dander (if you are allergic to dander) this can be a problem. You might want to try a blanket made of a different material to see if this is the problem. Possible: The major allergen would be house dust mites and you need to either wash the blanket in hot water every 3 months or encase it with an mite-proof duvet. Having said that, in a new blanket (, 3 months) mites are not the major issue although if it has a strong scent then it can work as an irritant.
