Severe reaction rare: Risks of local and systemic allergic reactions: 1/2000 shots. Very low risk of death associated with immunotherapy: 1 in 2.5 million injections. Due to risk shots should be given in a physician's office. Each shot requires 30 minute wait in office to monitor for possible reaction and to treat appropriately should one occur. Systemic reactions may occur after the 30 minute wait period but are rare.
