Please tell me, could i have gas instead of a general anesthetic?

Yes: Most general anesthetics include some sort of gas. If you want gas exclusively, yes. Just ask for it and tell them why. They will probably do it if you aren't obese, don't have claustrophobia, and haven't eaten recently, among other things.
