Pink eye: Sounds like a pink eye, but direct face to face exam is needed to rule out other potential causes. Thus, seeing a physician is needed.

See doctor: It is not feasible to provide a opinion without examining you. It would be prudent to see your doctor asap and if that is not feasible, go to the nearest emergency room for evaluation and treatment.

Corneal Abrasion?: If you scratched your cornea the eye will be painful watery and you will want to keep it closed. If it is very painful go be seen.... If you have a small foreign body in it it will continue to scratch and be painful and you need it removed. In the meantime your instinct will be to keep it shut. I dont wait with eyes...If it is that painful you need to be seen.

Be sure : It is not bacterial conjunctivitis. You will need prescription from your doctor. I see you suffer from allergic rhinitis too and allergy can certainly cause pink eye, too. If increasing pain, go to er! in meantime , apply warm compress on affected eye, take claritin. Allegra or zyrtec otc plus your nose spray, get zaditor (ketotifen) eye drops otc till you see your physician in the next day or 2

Eye closed and pain: You need to see your doctor asap as you may have an eye infection. I would even visit the er today.
