A member asked:

If lab shows blood in urine on a 'light' day menstruating, does a microscope test differenciate between that & other causes? moderate mucus etc

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Blood in the urine from a voided specimen any time during menstruation is unreliable. You'll either have to wait until your period is completely stopped and get a clean catch specimen or have a straight catheterization for a repeat specimen.
