Go with friend: I suggest you get a friend or family member to go with you to see the psychiatrist. The trusted person could be with you at the beginning of the evaluation, and as you feel more comfortable during the time, allow you and the psychiatrist to meet alone. I have seen many patients with social phobia this way, and it generally works.
