Any Type Possible: The worst type of schizophrenia is the type that causes the greatest impairment in one's ability to function and does not respond to medical treatment. In the U.S. We recognize five sub-types of schizophrenia: paranoid, disorganized, catatonic, undifferentiated, and residual. Some studies show that the paranoid type may have a better prognosis for indepdent living than the other four.
