Monitoring needed: The cause of abdominal distention can be many. It is not hard to find the cause. A ct can of the abdomen can show all that is there. It could be fat, fluid or growths in the abdomen, all of which will show in the ct scan. So get one done. If ct scan does not show anything then there is nothing serious going on in the abdomen.
