A member asked:

Are retina lattice regions associated with very tiny holes always?i saw 3 retinal docs:2 found only lattice(no holes) and 1 saw tiny holes present.

No: Lattice is an indication of stress at the site where it is found. Stress of this type is usually the retina stretching at that point; the retina lays down pigment which is its way of glueing itself to the underlying tissue. Holes are sometimes the stimulus for making lattice and holes can also be produced by stress at the lattice point- usually in older patients over 50 or so.
