Can a psychologist who has a ph.d prescribe medicine in some states in the u.s.?

Yes: If i recall, louisiana, new mexico, hawaii, native american reservations, and armed forces. The candidate must have a masters degree beyond their doctoral degree--the masters must be in psychopharmacology. They must have a lot of supervised prescription experience and must pass a tough national exam.
