A member asked:

Took 60 keflex&7 staphylex capsules to heal infected piercing. staphylex caused upper gi bleeding 3 days ago, and was prescribed nexium (esomeprazole). will it heal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Flucloxacillin: It would be unusual for this penicillin derivative to produce GI bleeding, and osomeprazole (nexium) may reduce gastric acidity but it would be very helpful to know what the bleeding was actually due to. Is this helicobacter pylori infection? Also the infected piercing, if it does not heal, may be due to organisms resistant to what you have been taking. Go back and question your doctor.
